Brief "Bidder's Edge, an online auction aggregator that was on the receiving end of a controversial 'trespassing' lawsuit launched by eBay Inc. [NASDAQ:EBAY] last year, says it is packing in its service. "In a notice published on its Web site this week, the Burlington, Mass., company said its auction search and comparison Web site will be shut down Feb. 21 'due to market and financing conditions.' "Bidder's Edge says it currently searches sales on some 200 online auction sites, allowing its users to monitor bidding around the Web from its pages. However, in May, a federal court judge in California barred the company from doing the same thing for auctions on the Web sites of market leader eBay...." |
